Tenho preguiça de quem só consegue viver o momento, mas por outro lado gosto de viver como se o amanha não existisse. Ou pelo menos, tentando me preocupar o mínimo com o dia seguinte.

I’m not that into the “living the moment” culture, but I try the hardest to live like there’s no tomorrow. Or at least not worrying so much about whats coming on tomorrow.

Thinking about that, I remembered an Alanis song which lyrics I’ve always loved. It seems she got into my mind and put my thoughts into this track!

It’s a matter of ethics, for sure... I’ve always got my tracks either from friends (but I admit I don’t question their sources) or I buy them myself. The thing is I don’t feel ashamed at all of downloading hollywood movies for free from the internet, but, after all, what is the difference from that to downloading tracks from small producers? I guess I’m stealing anyway, right? I have some friends that sell a good volume of tracks and claim they don’t care when they are downloaded for free. They say its “free publicity” anyway. I don’t agree.

As a small producer/DJ/videomaker myself, I shouldn’t do what I wouldn’t want to be done to me. So recently I was presented to these music blogs where you can download ANYTHING with high bitrate and I thought: would I like that to be done with my tracks? The answer is NO. So I'll keep on buying the ones I like. Its not really easy trying to be honest nowadays, and to be honest I’m not even a 100% sure if its WORTH it, but Ill try to support the scene I'm in... and try to make a difference in people's mind!

É uma questão de ética, né? Sempre consegui minhas tracks de amigos (mas não questiono suas fontes) ou compro eu mesma. O paradoxal é que não tenho vergonha alguma de baixar filmes de Hollywood de graça através dos torrents. Mas, no fim das contas, qual a diferença disso de baixar musica de pequenos produtores? Estou roubando de qualquer forma, não? Tenho alguns amigos produtores que possuem um volume de vendas razoável, e nao se importam se as tracks são baixadas de graça. Consideram publicidade grátis, de alguma forma. Discordo.

Como uma pequena produtora/DJ/videomaker, sigo a filosofia de que não devo fazer com os outros o que não gostaria que fosse feito comigo. Recentemente fui apresentada a vários blogs que possuem uma lista de musicas MUITO boas, e novas, com alta qualidade, de graça. Pensei: gostaria que isso fosse feito com minhas próprias faixas? A resposta é NÃO. Então, pretendo continuar comprando as tracks que gostar. Não é nada fácil ser honesta hoje em dia, e para falar a verdade, não sei nem mesmo se vale a pena! Mas... quero apoiar a cena... e tentar fazer uma diferença na cabeça das pessoas!
